MACH

MACH is the UKs premier manufacturing technologies exhibition and is owned and organised by the MTA. The event is held every two years and the next MACH takes place 7-11 June 2010.

MACH 2008 took place at the NEC, Birmingham, 21 - 25 April 2008 and by all accounts was a resounding success attracting 21% more visitors than the 2006 show and generating millions of pounds worth of sales for our exhibiting companies.  Full details are available on the MACH 2008 website http://www.mach2008.com/ but if you need further information please contact Graham Shearsmith, MACH Exhibition Manager at gshearsmith@mta.org.uk.

MACH VISITORS 21% UP ON PREVIOUS SHOW

MACH 2008 received approximately 21% more visitors than the 2006 event, a welcome sign for nearly 500 companies who exhibited at the show.

Despite media talk of an economic downturn and the credit crunch, MACH 2008 bucks the trend with visitors turning out in their thousands to see the latest innovations in manufacturing technology at the UK's premier show for the sector. Over 27,000 people came through the doors during the week-long show organised by the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA).

There was little evidence of economic woes at MACH 2008, Exhibition Manager, the MTA's Graham Shearsmith said MACH 2008 is incredibly positive for the industry "MACH is certainly bucking the trend, we had visitor numbers of over 27,000 which is 21% higher than 2006. In addition there have been some massive orders at the show - one exhibitor took an order for £10m and there were plenty of examples of large orders throughout the week. We hosted almost 500 exhibitors and around half were showing new products or services. As the show closed on Friday there was a definite buzz around the exhibition halls."

Visitor numbers to MACH 2008 and general feedback on sales at the show would suggest a positive outlook for the industry.
