Industry Forecasts

MTA has provided forecasts for the UK machine tool market since 1977 - this is a long-standing commitment providing information for the benefit of the membership.

A comprehensive half-day seminar is held each Autumn with an update the following Spring. You will find full details of forthcoming seminars within the Event section of this website

The forecasts are prepared independently by Oxford Economics - one of the UK's leading economic consultancies. Oxford Economics build the forecast from a detailed sectoral model of the UK and European economies, using data derived from MTA's own surveys.

In addition to the UK work, we now have forecasts for Germany, Italy, France, Spain and Switzerland. These are commissioned by CECIMO and prepared by Oxford Economics. This document can be downloaded using the link below and the forecasts are included in the presentation on the machine tool sector.

Each forecast and update is accompanied by comprehensive documentation that is available to all MTA members who can download these documents by logging-in.
