MTA and Cranfield School of Applied Science Continuing Personal development Programme
The MTA works with Cranfield University's School of Applied Sciences, to provide members with preferential rates on a wide range of five-day Continuing Professional Development courses in engineering and general management subjects.
In addition to the preferential rate, the MTA Education & Training Committee will consider applications for a £500 per person grant towards attending a selected range of the School's courses, which will be published quarterly. Click below to download an application form.

MTA Scholarships at Cranfield School of Management
As a result of the relationship we have developed with Cranfield School of Management, by subsidising members' attendance at a range of their masterclasses and short management development programmes (scroll further down for full details), one of the Directors approached us about creating a MTA Scholarship for three of their flagship management development programmes.
A grant of £2,500 per scholar is available funded jointly by MTA and Cranfield. Between them, the three programmes provide excellent opportunities for managers in both small and large companies, not only for established senior managers, but also for younger managers with high potential.
Business Growth & Development Programme The Business Growth and Development Programme (BGP) is the UK's leading programme for ambitious owner managers and MDs of established smaller businesses with turnovers between £0.5m and about £20m. 2006 is BGP's 19th consecutive year and, in that time, BGP has helped over 700 owner managers and MDs to exploit the true potential of their businesses and to fulfil their business and personal ambitions
The Cranfield General Management Programme This programme is for senior managers in larger organisations wishing to move beyond functional/specialist expertise to broaden their general management perspective and work effectively to add more value to their businesses. Participants are typically aged 35 to 55, with an average age of 40, and have at least 10 years' substantial management experience.
Developing General Management Potential This programme is for those in the early stages of their managerial careers, again in larger organisations, who want to develop more confidence, greater credibility and a wider business perspective, to fulfil their promise. Participants are typically aged 25 to 36, with an average age of 32, currently in operational rather than senior management roles, implementing rather than developing corporate strategy, but with the potential to become future high flyers.
