Training subsidies for a range of business courses MTA AWARDS SCHEME - SHORT COURSE GRANTS This MTA Award has been designed to allow member companies to apply for grants to cover up to 50% (to a maximum of £500) of the training costs for their employees to attend industry or nationally accredited short courses. Companies may apply for up to two applications per grant year, which runs from 1 April. Short courses are defined for the purposes of this grant as a course which is shorter than 10 weeks or 250 hours in duration. Subsidies are provided for longer-term courses through the Weatherley Fund. Further information can be obtained on this through the Education & Training Department. Listed in the information sheet are a selection of example courses that would qualify for funding through this award. This list is by no means exhaustive. If members are unsure if a course will qualify for a grant they should email: nstamp@mta.org.uk WEATHERLEY AWARD The aim of the Weatherley Award is to support the education of people involved in the machine tool industry or undergoing full time educational or technical training in subjects relating to that industry.
