Business Development
A major function of the MTA is to promote increased trading opportunities for our members and assist them to become more profitable. The Association has a dedicated business development department offering a range of services to members.
Statistics and regulatory advice
Our statistical services offer industry specific data and analysis to help you plan ahead and our technical department offers advice on the latest legislation and regulation to make sure you stay a step ahead. International trade
The MTA regularly run inward and outward missions in association with the UKTI to encourage international trade – assisting members to set up new trade links with overseas companies across the globe. With support from UKTI the MTA is sometimes able to offer those participating in missions with funding towards their trip.
In addition to missions the MTA assists members to attend overseas exhibitions, a full list of dates of international exhibitions supported or attended by the MTA can be found in the events section of the website and information on such events is regularly provided in the Friday Brief.

MTA Overseas Offices
Currently the MTA has offices in China and Russia. Both were set up to assist members looking to trade in these countries. The offices provide support with all areas of international trading in their respective countries and their local knowledge makes them experts at introducing new UK companies to the market.
Contact database
MTA offers members preferential rates on the Kompass database, a collection of over 200,000 business contacts and a source of potential customers. The MTA Kompass database UK file is available to members for just £350+VAT, a massive saving on the RRP of £3495. European and worldwide MTA Kompass files are also available at preferential rates for MTA members.
