Published : January 25, 2012
We are pleased to announce the appointment of the UKLA’s new Director General, Gerard Heaton, who joins the UKLA Secretariat from December. The new UKLA post of Director General replaces the previous post of Executive Director.
Following a handover period, Executive Director, Rod Parker, will be retiring from his duties early in 2012.
Gerard has extensive experience in the oil industry, having worked for more than 20 years with Shell in Lubricants, Base Oils and LPG markets, after an earlier career as a Marine Engineer Officer in the British Royal Navy.
His career in Shell spanned roles in sales, marketing, supply and trading, with the majority spent in the Lubricants and Base Oils markets, both in the UK and Internationally. He was also General Manager of Shell’s LPG business in Poland.
He left Shell in 2009, since when he has worked as a management consultant, providing business development, business improvement and M&A project management services to companies both inside and outside the oil industry.
