On Thursday this week, over 15,400 visitors had pre-registered their attendance at MACH2010. This figure is well above pre-registered visitor numbers of previous shows, at the same point in the promotional campaign.

So we have a coalition Government. David Cameron is Prime Minister and the Conservatives are in control in the Treasury, the Foreign Office and the Home Office. They will dominate the parliamentary make up of the Government benches and have carte blanche to make the cuts in public expenditure that they fought the election on, starting this year.

Results from the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) monthly members survey for April shows a drop in orders, inquiries and subsequently, confidence, compared to the March 2010 results. Following a spike in orders reported in March, the April fall has not affected the overall trend for orders – which remains positive.

Results from the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) monthly survey for March show significant increases in order intake and invoiced sales amongst member companies. In addition, the survey reports a higher level of business confidence, an increase in new business enquiries and reveals that compared to February, more companies are employing staff than making redundancies.
