Forecasts

MTA has provided forecasts for the UK machine tool market since 1977 - this is a long-standing commitment providing information for the benefit of the membership.

A comprehensive half-day seminar is held each Autumn with an update to the forecasts the following Spring. You will find full details of forthcoming seminars within the Event section of this website.

The forecasts are prepared independently by Oxford Economics - one of the UK's leading economic consultancies. Oxford Economics build the forecast from a detailed sectoral model of the UK and European economies, using data derived from MTA's own surveys.

MTA, through its membership of CECIMO, is also part of the consortium of associations that work with Oxford Economics on the Global Machine Tool Forecast. This gives forecasts for machine tool demand in 23 countries with a comprehensive document of supporting information about 8 key end-user markets and the economic situation in these countries.  The forecast is published twice per year.

Each forecast and update is accompanied by comprehensive documentation that is available to all MTA members.
