Laser prototypes grows SLS capabilities with Formiga P100 and 3 new materials
Laser Prototypes, the longest established Rapid Prototyping bureau in the UK and Ireland have annouced the recent expansion of their SLS facilities with the addition of the EOS Formiga P100 and 3 new SLS materials.
The EOS Formiga P100 machine boasts short lead times and high fidelity models. Perfect for the production of smaller more complex geometries, the fine laser focus of the Formiga P100 ensures maximum surface quality with wall thicknesses of as little as 0.4mm. With 23 of this machines own part laser sintered, the suitability of this system for low volume production and rapid manufacture is obvious, particularly for the medical industry and high value consumer goods.
The introduction of the Formiga P100 marked the first in a series of SLS developments planned for Laser Prototypes, with the addition of three functional new SLS materials rapidly following machine room expansion.
PrimeCast 101 combines high accuracy and fine surface quality making it ideally suited for the production of casting patterns. A low melting point and a minimum ash residue have led to PrimeCast proving popular for use in the production of lost patterns for investment castings.
All new flame retardant PrimePart FR offers exceptional thermal resistance with a melting point of 176oC. Proving popular with the aerospace, automotive and electronics industry the new Prime Part FR material offers an ideal solution for the production and development of functional prototype models.
Metallic in appearance, offers exceptional surface finishing properties, exceptional part strength, and high heat capacity making it an ideal material for the production of tools for wind tunnel testing. High stiffness and part quality make Alumide popular for small series production of tools and fixtures.
