Andy Hodgson, MTA President

Tuesday 8th December 2020 saw members of the Manufacturing Technologies Association meet online for our first ever virtual AGM. As part of this meeting, we also welcomed our new President Andy Hodgson, Strategic Lead: Digitalisation at Siemens.

The Manufacturing Technologies Association’s (MTA) flagship Technology, Design and Innovation (TDI) Challenge competition for young secondary school entrepreneurial STEM students went ahead utilising the latest digital technologies.

MACH

MACH, a biennial exhibition of manufacturing technologies, is the UK’s largest industrial trade event attracting 25,000 visitors. It is wholly owned and operated by the MTA.

Outreach

The MTA is a not-for-profit organisation which strives to make a positive difference to our industry and society more widely. In particular the MTA recognises the importance in supporting outreach activities to encourage new talent into the industry, helping to close the current skills gap.

Creating business opportunities for our members is a key aim for the MTA. Our vibrant networking events, annual dinner, inward and outward missions and export activities are all designed to create links for the UK’s advanced engineering sector and leading international engineering organisations.
