Welcome to this week’s Friday Brief and what a glorious day it is: sunshine and not a cloud in the sky
Clear skies and a bright future is something the MTA wants to ensure for our industry. To do this we need to develop fresh talent and foster a D&T curriculum that meets the real needs of our members. That’s why we’d like to ask you to take part in a survey that is running as part of DATA’s New Vision for D&T campaign.
These survey responses will form part of a consultation process taking place this summer, designed to help develop a D&T curriculum that will teach young people the skills they need to flourish personally and professionally within our industry and keep us cutting edge. We have also included details of MTA loans and grants available to members looking to fund staff training or apprentices in this week’s edition and welcome applications.
Engineering for a better world remains the theme behind the launch of CECIMO’s BluECOmpetence environmental sustainability initiative and you can find details on the scope of the programme and how to get involved in the brochure below.
Making sure potential customers can find and find out about our members and their products easily was one of the reasons why we recently redesigned the MTA’s website and we’d like to encourage all members to make the most of the enhanced features now available to them in the members’ directory.
Finally, we’d like to end this week’s briefing with a good news story. From Dragon’s Den flop to million pound business, you can find out why family favourite Trunki- the ‘ride on’ children’s suitcase- is shifting production back to the UK.
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the sunshine.
