Newsletter Listing intro for week 38

This week’s Friday Brief highlights the success of the MTA’s supply chain seminar held at Messier-Bugatti-Dowty at Gloucester and looks forward to important publicity and business development events in the weeks ahead.

Everyone who attended the supply chain seminar at Messier-Bugatti-Dowty on the 18th September described it as very worthwhile. The MTA events team are now working to finalise details of other supply chain seminars, so watch this space.

Two big upcoming engineering fairs, Imagineering in Coventry and the Scarborough Engineering Week are mentioned in this week’s Friday Brief. There is an opportunity at both shows for members to contribute educational giveaways via the MTA stands.

Between the 25 and 27 September the PPMA & TCT shows will be held at the NEC. The MTA will have a stand in the PPMA hall.

UKTI is offering publicity opportunities for companies doing business in Asia via a new showcase opportunity.

The Electronics, Sensors and Photonics KTN is offering the chance to collaborate with two leading UK universities’ engineering departments. We have full details of how to progress this opportunity.

And finally, congratulations go to the team from Mollart Engineering who came first at the MTA’s Golf Day and to Carl Musticone who won the individual competition.

Have a good weekend.

Universities Showcase Expertise

Universities Showcase Expertise

The Electronics Sensors & Photonics Knowledge Transfer Network is collaborating with University College London and the University of Cambridge to stage an Advanced Technology Showcase to demonstrate core capabilities and facilities to interested engineering companies. The Showcase will be held on 24 October at Senate House, University of London.

The event aims to put companies in direct touch with universities looking to form collaborations. For more details see the attached notice.

Memorable MTA Golf Day

Memorable MTA Golf Day

Yesterday saw a highly successdul MTA Golf Day. A total of eight teams of four players entered and progressed well despite the rather testing, windy conditions. Congratulations are due to the team from Mollart Enigneering, who were the overall winners, and to team member Carl Musticone for taking the individual honours.

The participants’ thanks go to MTA President Simon Pollard for hosting the event at the Leicestershire Golf Club.

Supply Chain Seminar Success

Supply Chain Seminar Success

The MTA’s supply chain seminar held at the Messier-Bugatti-Dowty manufacturing plant at Gloucester on 18 September was a resounding success. All thirty places were taken up and effective exchange of information together with good networking took place.

In addition to presentations from the Chris Wilson, Managing Director of Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, and Graham Dewhurst, the Director General of the MTA, the firms purchasing directors explained the Company’s manufacturing supply chain, production and future requirements.

Processing and Packaging Machinery Association Show

Processing and Packaging Machinery Association Show

The PPMA Show will be running next Tuesday- Thursday (25-27th September) at the NEC and is aimed at those involved in the buying, financing or maintaining of machinery. The event covers industries including food, pharmaceuticals or chemicals processing equipment, packaging or filling equipment or other components. The show is co-located at the NEC with TCT Live; the event for additive manufacturing, 3d printing & product development.

Opportunity with UKTI Asia Task Force

Opportunity with UKTI Asia Task Force

An opportunity for members has arisen with the UKTI’s Asia Task Force. The objective is to showcase UK based companies demonstrating the success of and demand for UK innovation, products and services in 12 of the most dynamic markets in Asia.

MTA member Delcam already features in the Asia Task Force Showcase and other members could also benefit from the wider publicity opportunities available through participation.
