Hello and welcome to this week’s Friday Brief. As another summer draws to its close, thoughts inevitably turn to EMO. For those of you intending to be in Hannover, we want to extend an invitation to come and join us for the UK Networking Event on Tuesday 17 September at 5.00pm in the UKTI lounge in Hall 16.
The event is a great chance to network with German and British companies and to exchange opinions on current trends and new business opportunities. We will highlight the strengths of the UK machine tool industry and what UK Trade & Investment can offer. We’ve more too about the CELIMO International Meeting to be held during the Show.
Exciting news from MACH 2014 this week as Messier-Bugatti-Dowty confirm their stand as the latest OEM to be at the exhibition, we’ve more details of this first for them below.
Following the bank holiday weekend we received news of the latest import and export figures. UK Machine Tool exports figures for the first half of 2013 were the highest levels first half numbers since 2001 – a great sign of the industry’s strength.
We also wanted to take this opportunity to remind members of a number of dates of MTA events coming up soon. Many of these events have been oversubscribed in previous years and so we are alerting members at this point to make sure no-one misses out.
Finally there is also an update on funding options for those companies thinking of going to Shanghai next year for the CCMT exhibition.
Have a good weekend.
