Welcome all to this week’s edition of Friday Brief, for the week ending 19th September.
This week, we announce some speakers for our upcoming events – the AGM on the 2nd December and October’s Member’s Quarterly Meeting. Be sure to sign up to both today!
We also have MTA CEO James Selka's thoughts on the recent IMTS and AMB Conferences, and the excellent venue in Stuttgart. This week’s economic news picks up comments in the Bank of England Agent’s report which, while pointing to some easing of growth rates in manufacturing, also highlight steady demand for the engineering sector based on the strength of the automotive and aerospace sectors – this picks up on some of the data we reflected last week on UK manufacturing output by sector.
In addition, we’ve got news a UKTI market visit to Japan, coinciding with JIMTOF 2014, Renishaw’s MaschinenMarket award win, where their new Sprint scanning probe won an award for ‘Most Innovative Measuring System Product’ and news of Group Rhodes’ 2014 Apprenticeship Awards.
