Joseph Rhodes is one of Europe’s largest Original Equipment Manufacturers in its field, supplying an extensive range of machinery for Metalforming, Material Handling and Special Purpose applications.
The Company is a proud winner of two prestigious Queen’s Awards for Enterprise. In 2012, in the category of International Trade in recognition of outstanding achievements in overseas markets, and in 2010, in the category of Innovation, for its continuous development of Super Plastic Forming and Diffusion Bonding Presses (SPF/DB). These machines are specifically designed for the high temperature forming of titanium and aluminium alloys, primarily used in the aerospace and automotive industry.
Joseph Rhodes was also triumphant during the MACH exhibition, where the Company also won the MWP Advanced Engineering Awards 2012: Best Metalforming and Fabrication Equipment.
The Company operates from sites in Wakefield, Sheffield and Manchester, England, with over 16,000 sq. metres of factory space under cranage. Over fifty basic product ranges are actively manufactured and marketed, although pride is taken in the ability to design, develop and manufacture bespoke machinery and complete turnkey solutions. Joseph Rhodes regularly exports approximately one third of its turnover to over thirty countries each year.
On the export side of the business, the Middle East and Far East are burgeoning markets for Joseph Rhodes, and in 2012, the Company announced a joint venture manufacturing agreement in Bangalore, India. Nearer to home, R&D projects in fields of thermoplastics and waste recycling demonstrate a clear focus on low carbon technologies, and a recognition of the role of innovation in developing sustainable manufacturing processes.
