The report was published at the end of October 2015 and focuses on the manufacturing sector and the various obstacles it needs to overcome in the near future to ensure long-term sustainability socially, economically and ecologically. It focuses on sustainability – from dwindling natural resources to our innovation deficit and the long-term skills base that will help British manufacturing to flourish.

Manufacturing in the UK faces significant challenges, as the recent difficulties in the steel industry have made evident. Manufacturing is a crucial sector of the economy, and maintains an important historical and cultural significance for British society. Manufacturing is undeniably a part of our heritage. We began the industrial revolution. Now is the time for us to lead the Industrial Evolution.
