The BioComposites Subgroup meeting in collaboration with SusCompNet on 5 March at the Warwick Manufacturing Group, Warwick will discuss opportunities in this fast developing sector.
Composite materials derived from natural, renewable sources have received significant interest in recent years, in particular due to the increased awareness of environmental issues and the drive towards more sustainable technologies. The materials offer unique advantages over alternative choices, but there are many questions still to be answered from potential end-users and from the composites community itself. Within this in mind, Composites UK BioComposites group is collaborating with SusCompNet to support and guide companies looking to either produce or use these materials
This unique industry-focused half day event will tackle some of the fundamental questions posed by the composites industry and end-user markets.
The event will provide the opportunity for in-depth discussion of crucial issues and help provide answers and solutions. An additional aim of the event will be to discuss and plan future meetings of the forum.
The Provisional Programme will include a workshop facilitated by Neil Appleton, PFG and Chair of Composites UK BioComposites subgroup along with Dr Kerry Kirwan, SusCompNet Director. The workshop will comprise 3 sessions, each with a short opening presentation to be followed by question and answer discussion session.
