House of Commons Committee cites MTA

Key points from an MTA submission to the House of Commons Business, Innovation & Skills Committee have been included in its 2012-13 session report on Apprenticeships.

In the section focusing on Training Providers the report argues that increased transparency about the standing of training providers would enable employers and prospective apprentices to have better information about provider performance. The MTA had told the Committee that placing more power with the employers would prevent funding going to poor providers.

The MTA said: “In a truly demand led system, in which employers carried the funding, wasteful or just downright poor providers would be squeezed out as employers opted for the best and most appropriate.”
