Last week saw the Manufacturing Technology Centre, part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, host a high profile event exploring one of the hottest topics in manufacturing, Industry 4.0.
The event drew together voices from across Europe including: Germany’s Ambassador to the UK Peter Ammon; Martin Donnelly, Permanent Secretary at the Department for Business Innovation and Skills; and Anne-Marie Sassen of DG Connect, European Commission, as well as wide range of academic and business voices.
Industrial presentations included the views of Siemens, Bosch and Meggit. Paul O’Donnell of the MTA also spoke about the effects that increasing the value placed on data could have on the management of value chains.
A full report is being written up by the MTC and will be published in due course and a selection of the presentations will be made available for download next week on the MTC website.
