Congratulations are due to MTA member the National Physical Laboratory on their award of the status of Recognised Training Provider by SEMTA, the sector skills council for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering.
NPL won Training Scheme of the Year at the MTA’s Manufacturing Industry Awards earlier this year and this further recognition should make it easier for small and medium sized companies to access their training and to get it funded.
Courses are currently offered in Dimensional and Large Volume Metrology and can cover a range of other areas such as temperature, electrical, uncertainty and laser safety. The courses are aimed at reintroducing a questioning approach to measurement and applying good practice rather than relying on technology alone. They are designed with a view to reducing errors, solving complex problems, developing new products and services and functioning more efficiently.
