Renishaw co-founders honoured

His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex visited MTA member Renishaw plc on 26th November to present the company’s 16th Queens Award for Enterprise. HRH also made a 40th anniversary presentation to the Company’s co-founders Sir David McMurtry Chairman and Chief Executive, (left of picture)  and John Deer Deputy Chairman (centre of picture).

On this occasion, the company received a Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Innovations category for its revolutionary REVO® five-axis multi-sensor probing system. The system is used on co-ordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to significantly improve accuracy and throughput when inspecting complex parts including aero-engine blades, automotive cylinder blocks and many types of gears.

During his visit Prince Edward received demonstrations of Renishaw's advanced engineering technologies, saw progress on a new 145,000 sq. ft. building, met some of Renishaw's 111 current  apprentices (a record number for the Company), and was also presented with a special 3D printed titanium gift.
