Smarter Factories Conference

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers is organising a key sector conference in June entitled: How new technologies can improve the performance and competitiveness of UK manufacturing.

The conference is designed to inform and inspire engineers on the disruptive technologies that are transforming production environments. The high level conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at the NEC Birmingham on 19 June 2014. Among the speakers will be Graham Dewhurst, Director General of the Manufacturing Technologies Association, who will be presenting on: Machine tools and the future of subtractive manufacturing technology. 

Other distinguished speakers will include: Terry Scuoler, Engineering Employers' Federation; Dr Jagjit Singh Srai, University of Cambridge; Dr Emma Rushforth, Warwick Manufacturing Group; Professor Steve Burnage, University of Surrey/Lockheed Martin; Dr Helen Meese, IMechE; Ben Morgan, Sheffield AMRC; Professor Stewart Williams, Welding and Laser Processing Centre, Cranfield University; and Professor Hongbiao Dong, Royal Society and Leicester University.
