The first Moulding Expo Trade Fair took place in Stuttgart in Germany this week. The event has been hailed as a success by organisers, as the exhibition area was fully booked for the event.
The Moulding Expo sought to core companies from the area of tool, pattern and mould making.
This was the first Moulding Expo to be held in Stuttgart and it is now planned to be a bi-annual event and is organised by German Tool and Mould Makers Association (VDWF), the Federation of Model and Mouldmaking (MF), the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) and the German Machine Tool Builders’ Association (VDW). 619 exhibitors attended occupying 31,500 square meters over 3 halls at the Stuttgart Trade Fair. High end manufacturing was also very well represented with Tooling, work holding, machine tools and Metrology.
MTA CEO James Selka attended the event, commenting, “The growth in additive manufacturing is essential to for the development of our industry. The Mould Expo in Stuttgart offered a great insight into this developing field, demonstrating how additive manufacturing can add value, stream line operations and most importantly increase productivity.”
He concluded “it was a very worthwhile event and I look forward to returning in two years’ time”.
