CGTech has unveiled a bespoke software package which can replicate the cutting conditions that would be achieved in real-world applications.
The software has been developed to support the extended us of CGTech’s physics-based VERICUT FORCE optimisation module and was revealed at the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC).
CGTech will be demonstrating the highlights of its new VERICUT version 9 during EMO 2019 in Hall 9, stand B04. VERICUT is the industry standard for CNC machining simulation to detect errors, potential collisions or areas inefficiencies. It works independently, but can also be integrated into leading CAM systems.
While digital twinning is a relatively new phenomenon, one of the early adopters of the physical ‘twin’ concept was NASA, where a full-scale mock-up of the early space capsules were used on the ground to mirror and diagnose problems in orbit. The physical eventually gave way to fully digital simulations. The digital twin provides a representation of a physical object or system.
