Apprenticeship Levy launch - what you need to know

The MTA has partnered with EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, to deliver a webinar of Tuesday 4th April to help raise awareness on the changes the Government is making to the way it funds apprenticeships.

The Apprenticeship Levy requires all employers operating in the UK, with a pay bill over £3 million each year, to invest in apprenticeships, and there will be changes to the funding for apprenticeship training for all employers.  The Government is introducing the Levy on 6 April 2017, and apprenticeship funding will fully operate from 1 May 2017, whether you pay the Levy or not.  What many companies aren’t aware of is that even non-Levy payers can still access Government funding for apprenticeships.

This free webinar, hosted by the EEF, will provide information on how the Apprenticeship Levy will work and is relevant for both Levy payers and non-Levy payers. You can register for the webinar using the link below:

There will also be an opportunity to find out about the £2,000 Apprenticeship Grants and £10,000 interest-free Apprenticeship Loans that the MTA offers for its members (please visit https://www.mta.org.uk/services/grants-apprenticeships or email education@mta.org.uk for more information).  Whereas the Apprenticeship Levy funding can only be used for training, the MTA’s Grants and Loans can be used to support your business in other ways, such as apprentice wages or training equipment.
