The MTA will be writing a formal response to two of the Government’s current consultations:

This is a once in a generation opportunity to help influence the future of technical education to ensure it suits the needs of our industry, and therefore your opinion is important to us.  Please email Laura Pickering, Education & Development Manager, with your views and comments no later than Wednesday 17 January (please list either “Implementation of T level programmes consultation” or “Institute for Apprenticeships: Occupational Maps consultation” as your email title so that we know which consultation you are responding to).

In addition, the DfE is holding a series of consultation events for the Implementation of T level programmes:

•             Monday 15 January – Church House, London (fully booked, an additional date might be scheduled for 31 January)

•             Tuesday 16 January – Mercure Darlington Kings Hotel, Darlington

•             Friday 19 January – etc venue, Manchester

•             Monday 22 January – Bridgwater & Taunton College, Cannington Campus, Nr Bridgwater

•             Thursday 25 January – Maids Head Hotel, Norwich

•             Friday 26 January – The Studio, Birmingham

The consultation is an important next step in the technical education reforms and the DfE is inviting everyone with an interest to contribute. These events provide an opportunity to hear the latest on the Industrial Strategy and Careers Strategy and will help you to develop an informed response to the consultation. The events are aimed in particular at colleges, employers and independent training providers. You can register to attend a session by visiting the AoC registration page at
