HVMC wants UK manufacturing to double by 2030

The High Value Manufacturing Catapult wants to see a doubling of UK manufacturing’s contribution to the UK economy by 2030. 

To achieve that, a transformation in the level of uptake of automation and robotics will be required, writes Clive Hickman, chief executive of the Manufacturing Technology Centre, in the foreword to a new report: Robotics and Automation: A New Perspective.  UK manufacturing productivity has been surpassed by other countries and the gap will only continue to grow if it is ignored, he writes.
