Wednesday (8th December) saw the MTA’s AGM and House of Commons reception take place.
Dave Burley has been appointed President and takes over from Andy Hodgson as per our press release in last week’s Friday Brief .
The House of Commons reception was hosted by Barry Sheerman MP who talked about the importance of manufacturing to the UK.
Responding to his address Dave Burley, President, noted that manufacturing and advanced engineering can help with sustainability, productivity and levelling up as well providing a vibrant and rewarding career path for the next generation of engineers.
He also noted that whilst we welcome the internationalisation fund, concerns exist over the dissolution of the advanced manufacturing group within DIT.
The President closed by nothing the community will come together 4-8th April at MACH which provides the perfect opportunity to see what the sector can do to support UK manufacturing.
