MTA host EMO press conference

This week EMO Hannover hosted a press conference for this year’s exhibition at the MTA offices in London.

The gathered press were addressed by Dr. Wilfried Schafer Executive Director of VDW (German Machine Tool Builders’ Association), Oliver Frese Board member of Deutsche Messe AG Hannover, Paul O’Donnell Head of External Affairs at the MTA and Stewart Lane Business Manager at Renishaw.

The Exhibition will take place from 18th – 23rd September 2017 in Hannover. As of the end of April 2000 plus firms from 44 different countries have signed up to exhibit. These exhibitors have taken a combined 176,000 square meters of net floor space at the show. These figures are up on the comparable period of sales from the 2013 show in Hannover, as EMO 2015 took place in Milan.

The organisers are already predicting record levels of participation for this event and hopes are high that this will also be reflected in visitor numbers. In 2013 143,000 trade visitors came to the show from 110 different countries around the world.

Paul O’Donnell, Head of External Affairs at the MTA, said “it was our pleasure to host the UK leg of the EMO press tour. EMO plays an integral role in the international machine tools market and is a hugely important event for the whole of Europe. The MTA are looking forward to attending the event and having a stand at the show to support our members at this integral industry showcase.”
