The MTA have been at MAKTEK in Turkey this week and, building on a sucessful event in 2014, once again took the opportunity to host a UK pavilion.
The week was kicked off by presentations for companies on the pavilion from the British Chamber of Commerce and the Investment and Promotion Agency of Turkey. With the show getting busier as the week progressed there has been a good level of interest with plenty of enquiries being taken by UK companies.
The MTA have been meeting with our Turkish counterparts and discussing how we can work more closely together in the future, these conversations have been fruitful.
James Fudge, Head of Events said “It has been a fantastic opportunity to reaffirm our partnerships with our Turkish counterparts, TIAD and MIB, making new connections in the process. There are a large number of Turkish agents present at the show, some representing our Members, and for the MTA to have representation from UK manufacturers on the pavilion has been beneficial. We hope this we lead to a stronger partnership going forward.”
Tom Lane, PR and Communications Executive at the MTA added “The Turkish manufacturing sector is one of the biggest markets in the world and it is beneficial for UK companies to be making inroads here. We hope this results in the UK taking a larger pavilion in 2018.”
