REVISED GUIDANCE ON METALWORKING FLUIDS

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have worked in collaboration with the UK Lubricants Association (UKLA) to produce a revised version of the UKLA Good Practice Guide for the Safe Handling and Disposal of Metalworking Fluids.  This updated guide provides advice on how to maintain metalworking fluids, prevent ill-health in machine workshops and complements the guidance provide by the HSE COSHH essential sheets which can be found at https://www.hse.gov.uk/metalworking/ecoshh.htm?utm_source=govdelivery&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=guidance-push&utm_term=ukla-coshh&utm_content=mvr-7-sep-20.  The specific updates include:

  • Advice on health surveillance.
  • Acting on dip-slide results.
