In alignment with the Government’s Industry Strategy White Paper (Nov 2017), which highlighted the need for school pupils to have access to digital technologies, DATA have been running a project with a group of local schools who have been introducing robotics to their students linked to a range of ‘real life’ activities we have developed around them. Previously, these schools would not have had access to this technology within their Design and Technology curriculum.
Funded by The Comino Foundation, and supported by the IET Coventry and Warwickshire network, this event has been set up for the schools and their students to showcase the work they have been doing. Local employers, educationalists and policymakers from the area are invited to find out more about the work these schools have done, the impact of introducing robotics into the classroom, the challenges these schools have faced and to subsequently highlight ways for better collaboration between all parties.
