Cyber-crime and telephone fraud has continued to increase and scams are getting ever more sophisticated.
We have recently heard reports of a recent scheme whereby a call is made from an alleged “High Court Enforcement Officer”.
They advise that bailiffs will attend premises in a few hours’ time and present a High Court Writ and that a CCJ has been issued against the business.
Companies are given the opportunity to pay a lower amount and the bailiffs stood down.
We would like to remind members that High Court Enforcement Officers will never ask you to make a payment into a bank account.
If you think you have been a victim of fraud, please report these activities to Action Fraud at www.actionfraud.police.uk
