Sir Patrick Vallance on Net Zero webinar

A webinar to explain the government’s £1 billion Net Zero Innovation Portfolio is being presented by the business department, BEIS and the Knowledge Transfer Network, KTN.

The portfolio initiative was announced in March (see https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/net-zero-innovation-portfolio).  Firms are invited to compete for funding for projects in ten priority areas, identified as:  future offshore wind; nuclear advanced modular reactors (supported through the aligned Advanced Nuclear Fund); energy storage and flexibility; bioenergy; hydrogen; homes; direct air capture and greenhouse gas removal (GGR); advanced CCUS; industrial fuel switching; and disruptive technologies.

The 90-minute webinar on July 8th will be introduced by the minister for Clean Growth, Anne Marie-Trevelyan and will feature a discussion and Q&A.  Panellists will include Sir Patrick Vallance, government chief scientific adviser who will also head the newly-announced Office for Science and Technology Strategy.  More details and registration for the webinar are at https://ktn-uk.org/events/unleashing-innovation-net-zero-innovation-portfolio/

We would in due course welcome your comments on the Net Zero Innovation Portfolio, which - as always - will be treated in confidence.
