The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) together with the Engineering Industries Association (EIA) are forming a UK Pavilion at the FITMA exhibition. Negotiations towards a new Free Trade Agreement (UK Mexico Trade Community Agreement), has commenced with the object to conclude negotiations within two years. UK exhibitors at the show in 2023 will be well placed to be set up to take advantage of these with partners the following year.

Total trade in goods and services (exports plus imports) between the UK and Mexico was £4.2 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q1 2022, an increase of 13.5% or £502 million from the four quarters to the end of Q1 2021. Total UK exports to Mexico amounted to £2.1 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q1 2022 (an increase of 10.6% or £203 million compared to the four quarters to the end of Q1 2021.

Machine tool consumption in Mexico is US$3.9 billion and is the 8th largest machine tool consumer in the world.  Automotive, aerospace, medical device and home appliance manufactures in Mexico are renowned appearing in the top ten producers in these sectors.

FITMA 2023 is the biennial technology and manufacturing exhibition for Latin America where the latest innovations in machine tool, equipment and accessories for all industries in the metalworking sector are showcased.  FITMA is organised by Gardner Business Media and AMT – Association for Manufacturing Technology (the organisers of IMTS in the US), with support from National Autoparts Industry NAI, the Mexican Federation of the Aerospace Industry (FEMIA), the Mexican Association of Mold and Die Manufacturing (AMMT) and most of the recognised international machine tool manufacturing Associations from around the world.

The exclusive UK Pavilion Package will cost US$475 per square metre which UK signage plus a recorded interview with promotion through social media channel, a quarter page advertisement plus a quarter biography of the company in the show supplement mailed to 20,000 the month before the event, a timeslot to speak and present on tv monitor your product or service in the Tech Talk Theatre, enhanced web presence in the FITMA showroom and 10% discount on any sponsorship opportunities offered by the show organisers. There will be an MTA management fee of £500 for each exhibitor.

Funding may be available for new UK companies to the market of up to £9,000 through the UK
