The HSE are hosting an event on the 24th July 2019 at their Science and Research Laboratories in Buxton (https://www.hsl.gov.uk/about-us/location) looking at Designing out CNC Machine Metalworking Fluid Mist Inhalation Risks.
The event aims to bring together CNC equipment designers with local exhaust ventilation (LEV) designers and start discussions and dialogue about how to design out CNC Machine Metalworking Fluid Mist Inhalation Risks. The event will cover the following topics:
- HSE Metalworking Fluid Mist Inhalation Health Risks Overview
- Workshop on feasibility of all new CNC machine centres being supplied with LEV fitted as standard – what are the barriers and how can they be overcome?
- HSE Metalworking Proactive Work Programme Overview
- Workshop on designing a mist extraction system for CNC enclosures for supply and retrofit – what are the challenges and knowledge gaps and how can these be addressed?
The event is mainly aimed at design engineers to enable the technical discussions to happen.
If any MTA members are interested in participating please get in contact with the MTA’s Technology Manager, Joshua Dugdale on email@example.com and he will be able to send out further information.
