The MTA’s MACH Exhibition celebrated its centenary and looked to the future at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), Coventry on 10 October. The event marked the 100th anniversary of the first show, the International Engineering & Machinery Exhibition in 1912 and highlighted the innovations in manufacturing technology that have been showcased over the years. The occasion also marked the launch of MACH 2014 which will be held at the NEC between 7-11 April.
Guests were given a tour of the MTC before being entertained by the guest speaker, Robert Llewellyn – presenter of TV’s Scrapheap Challenge and champion of all things engineering. A copy of the commemorative book entitled a Century of Innovation, charting the history of the MACH Exhibition over the past one hundred years, was presented to guests.
