Scope
This part of ISO 14505 provides guidelines and a standard method for assessing thermal comfort in vehicles using human participants. It applies to all vehicle types—cars, buses, trains, aircraft, ships, and more—and covers both enclosed and open environments. The standard supports vehicle development by evaluating how well a vehicle maintains occupant thermal comfort and includes both objective and subjective assessment methods. It is a fundamental ergonomics standard that can support the creation of more specific vehicle-related standards.
