TAF AWARDS SUCESS FOR THE MTA
Published : July 28, 2008
The Association scooped two awards at the prestigious Trade Association Forum Best Practice Awards last night. The MTA won best exhibition for MACH 2008 and Geoff Noon received the Individual Contribution Award. The Awards exist to promote best practice amongst trade associations nationally in the UK and for the MTA to win two is an incredible achievement.
Referring to MACH the judges commented that the exhibition was able to present concrete figures which demonstrated that the exhibition was a great success, their website carries the following citation, "MACH is a big and established show and a very important part of the Manufacturing Technologies Association's services to members. The judges were impressed by the energy that had obviously been put into making an already successful event even more so, and the striking response to all that effort." And the web citation closed with, "An impressive entry and an impressive show, the judges thought - a real shop window on the industry."
Graham Shearsmith was delighted that the success of MACH was recognised, "Its a fantastic result for MACH to be declared Best Exhibition at the TAF Awards for the second MACH year running. The Award is an absolute testament to the hard work that is put into the exhibition, by MTA staff, by Exhibition Committee members and our member companies who chose to exhibit at the show. All that remains to be said is we'll be working to make MACH 2010 (7-11 June, NEC Birmingham) even better."
Geoff Noon was presented with the Individual Contribution Award in recognition of 19 years serving the MTA and during that time for his development of the MTA's statistics and data which proves so valuable to members assessing their market position, benchmarking their performance against competitors and identifying market opportunities. The following was posted by the judges on the TAF website, "The judges felt that the acknowledged professionalism of the statistics produced and used by the MTA was a fine example of a trade association reflecting the business like demands of its member companies. Geoff Noon's efforts contribute much to the effectiveness of the Association."
In addition to winning two categories the MTA was also a shortlisted finalist in the Best Membership Pack category for its new User Partners pack and Best Electronic Communication for its MACH visitor email campaign.
