Course Summary
Remanufacturing is a term coined for the process of taking a previously sold, worn, non-functional product or component and reviving it to turn it into a like-new condition which thereby extends the product lifecycle.
The process of remanufacturing is becoming increasingly popular across many industries ranging from aerospace to food production thanks to the reduction in resources and offering a more sustainable manufacturing solution.
In this introductory course, you will learn more about the history, and the basics of remanufacturing, and why the process is being adopted more and more within industry as well as the types of products that are typically remanufactured.
The course will take you through the entire seven-step remanufacturing process, a practice that is vital to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Specifically, the course will look at: inspection, disassembly, cleaning, component remanufactured, reassembly, testing and finishing, and packaging.
We also recommend that participants undertake the Design for Remanufacture course, in order to get the best overview of remanufacturing.
