MMC Hardmetal UK will be featuring the latest in performance, strategy and sustainability when they present at the GROB Technology Day in Stratford-upon-Avon on June 25th.
Amongst several other presentations, one highlight will be the live demonstration of the benefits of trochoidal milling with Mitsubishi Materials state-of-the-art VQCS chipbreaker type endmills. The geometry of these innovative endmills will clearly show how the efficient breaking and evacuation of the chips generated leads to increases in tool life, reliability and cost savings.
Also being demonstrated live will be the highly innovative iMX range of changeable carbide milling heads, that feature a steel thread accurately inserted for durability and strength when clamping. The high accuracy and repeatability of the double face and taper contact between head and shank will also be demonstrated live. The huge range of geometries and in-depth knowledge of the benefits of the iMX series can be seen on the day.
Sustainability, refurbishing and recycling are now an integral part of Mitsubishi’s corporate strategy. The new acquisition of a dedicated endmill and drill reconditioning company (UFP) in Italy aims to strengthen this strategy. UFP is one of the largest and well-established providers of reconditioning services and customized tool design solutions for cutting tools in Europe. This strategic acquisition responds to growing customer demand for more tailormade solutions as well as flexible and faster reconditioning and recoating services, ensuring greater operational efficiency and reliability. UK staff will be able to discuss how to use this new service with customers at the Grob Technology Day.
Additionally, details of the recently launched recycling campaign where all carbide tooling can be collected from end users will be available. The end user is rewarded financially by the kilo of carbide provided, this scrap is then expertly recycled by a Mitsubishi subsidiary company in Japan that uses the latest technology to return the carbide in a high quality state that can be made into new tooling.
MMC Hardmetal UK management and engineering staff are freely available throughout the day to answer questions and pass on their extensive knowledge and experience.
