The Managing Director of Neida, and current BTMA president announced the new president of SID
Congratulations to our Managing Director, David Brown, who today has been appointed the new president of the Syndicat International du Décolletage (SID) from 2025 to 2027.
During this year’s SID International Congress in Chicago, it was announced that David Brown, the current BTMA President and Director at Neida, will serve as the President of the Syndicat International du Décolletage (SID) from 2025 to 2027
The Syndicat International du Décolletage was created in 1963 to bring together national organisations representing the precision machining industry.
For over 10 years, David has been a member of the British Turned Parts Manufacturing Association and during his current presidency has driven manufacturing initiatives related to skills and training, legislation and regulations, sustainability, and process improvements.
During David’s new presidency at SID, the key objectives will take on a global focus;
Encourage collaboration, promote networking, and the exchange of ideas among members in the precision machining sector.
Organise a bi-annual congress of all national member organisations to discuss and share knowledge on common engineering issues whilst engaging in activities that contribute to sustainable competitiveness.
Share, compare, and provide guidance on legislative, regulatory, environmental, technical, and economic data relevant to each member country.
Encourage and facilitate the development of suitable skills training programs for the industry, including opportunities for international exchange for young members eager to learn in other member countries.
